Syekh Siti Jenar, also known as Syekh Lemah Abang, was a Javanese Sufi mystic who lived in the 16th century. He is a controversial figure in Indonesian history, as his teachings were considered heretical by some orthodox Muslims.
Some sources say that Syekh Siti Jenar was born in Cirebon, West Java. Other sources say that he was born in Persia. His father was a Muslim scholar, and Siti Jenar was well-educated in Islamic theology and philosophy.
Syekh Siti Jenar's teachings were based on the concept of wahdat al-wujud, or the unity of being. This concept states that there is no separation between God and the creation. In other words, God is immanent in all things. Siti Jenar's teachings were considered controversial because they challenged the traditional Islamic view of God as transcendent and separate from the creation.
